NARRATIVE OF INCIDENT:
During the course of their interdiction work in January and February, K9 Cash and his partner were able to successfully intercept nearly 6lbs of what was confirmed to be fentanyl.
With only 2 milligrams considered a lethal dose, their work has prevented countless possible overdoses and deaths. K9 Cash, his partner, and the entire Springfield Police Department work tirelessly to prevent the distribution of these dangerous substances within our community.
“Just like every other community across the state, the Springfield Police Department responds to fentanyl related criminal activity, overdoses, and deaths almost daily. Our department is committed to continuing our relentless pursuit of those responsible for causing harm to the people we’ve sworn to protect and serve.”
– Chief Andrew Shearer
