Springfield City Hall including the Springfield Public Library, and Springfield Municipal Court will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, January 16. Springfield Municipal Court will be sending automated text messages, emails, or phone calls letting individuals know their court date has been rescheduled.

Additionally, the Springfield City Council meeting scheduled for tomorrow night as been cancelled and will be rescheduled. We will post the new date once determined to the City’s website at https://springfield-or.gov/city/city-council-meetings/.

The City’s Operations Division continues to be hard at work sanding priority streets and clearing down street trees. They have also been working on securing additional help and preparing a plan for the long-term tree clean up work. All the City’s first responders including Springfield Police Department, Eugene Springfield Fire and Operations Division staff continue to be in service to the Springfield community.

We ask that drivers be aware that due to the icy conditions not all traffic lights in Springfield are working as they should and to observe stop and go conditions at those lights. Plus, to continue to use caution and consider their speed when driving during these icy conditions and freezing rain events. Road conditions can vary on City streets and drivers should give plenty of space between them and the vehicle ahead to allow for stopping.
