As part of the 2024 State of the City, Mayor Sean VanGordon shared his vision for Springfield in 2024 and beyond. He also reflected on accomplishments that occurred in 2023 and what’s to come in 2024 with help from City Council members. Additionally, Mayor VanGordon announced his selections for Springfield Business of the Year, City of Springfield Employee(s) of the Year, and the Community Champion Award recipient for 2023. This year’s program, included a Community Conversation panel with community leaders joining Mayor VanGordon live, on-stage for a Q&A session that discussed their organization’s connections with Springfield.

Mayor VanGordon was joined by:

• Jamie Moffitt – University of Oregon Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer
• Jameson Auten – CEO and General Manager of Lane Transit District
• Oren Posner – Vice President of Lane Forest Products

The State of the City event was held at the Richard E. Wildish Community Theater in Downtown Springfield. A big thank you to the Wildish staff, City staff, and all those who had a part in making the event a success!
