Springfield’s annual State of the City Address has been postponed so efforts can continue to be focused on clean up and recovery from the unprecedented ice storm our community experienced. The new event date will be announced once determined. The event was to take place at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 25 at the Richard E. Wildish Community Theater in Downtown Springfield.
From Mayor VanGordon: “We need to continue focusing on recovery. I know many of us are still experiencing challenges, whether it be power outages, property damage, or other issues related to the storm. I have been communicating with Springfield Utility Board about restoring power to all residents as soon as possible. Springfield is and will remain resilient in the face of this natural disaster and we will continue to work together towards a full recovery.”
