Due to inclement weather predicted in the Willamette Valley through the remainder of the week, Springfield is modifying its public service hours out of safety considerations for community members and staff.

Hours are as follows through Thursday, December 30 unless otherwise noted. City facilities will be closed on Friday, December 31 in observance of the New Year’s Day holiday. City first responders including Police, Fire, and Operations will remain in service.

  • Springfield City Hall: open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Springfield Public Library: open from noon to 4 p.m.
  • Springfield Municipal Court: open from noon to 4 p.m.
  • Springfield Development and Public Works Counter is closed until Monday, January 3

All virtual court appearances scheduled before noon will still happen at their scheduled time. Defendants may contact their attorney or email court staff if they have questions regarding access to their virtual court appearance. The court is encouraging the community to use online and email options this week. Community members can reach court staff by emailing courts@springfield-or.gov. Court payments can be made 24/7 by visiting www.springfield-or.gov/courtpayments or by calling 833-271-0805.

Please use caution when traveling today and consider accessing City services online, via email, or by phone. Any additional changes in service hours will be updated via media, City website, and City social media sites.

Springfield Operations crews are working in 24-hour response mode with three sanding crews working throughout Springfield. Operations is focusing on priority streets as shown here: https://bit.ly/SnowIcePrioritiesMap  with an emphasis on maintaining emergency vehicle access. If you must drive in these conditions, please drive slowly, and give yourself plenty of time to stop.

City crews will respond to fallen trees on City property or that have fallen into the roadway. Please report these issues to our Operations Division at 541.726.3761.
