The Springfield Arts Commission (SAC) is now accepting applications for 2024 exhibits in Springfield’s City Hall Gallery. The gallery, located inside City Hall at 225 5th Street, is seen by approximately 3,700 visitors each month. The application process and details are available online at https://springfield-or.gov/springfield-arts-commission/#CHG. Applications need to be submitted by September 1, 2023 for consideration.
The SAC welcomes applications by individual artists or self-curated groups. Applicants are not required to live within the Springfield. Past exhibitions have featured well-known local and regional artists such as Jerry Ross, Jo Dunnick, Cindy Stinson-Chennell, and Demetra Kalams.
The gallery can accommodate two-dimensional work on a wall approximately 70’ wide and has three enclosed acrylic cases available for small to medium three-dimensional works. Exhibits are typically on display for one month. Work exhibited must be suitable to the space and its function. Exhibiting artists may choose to sell their work but must coordinate with buyers directly. There are no exhibit fees and neither the SAC nor the City of Springfield take a percentage of sales.

Artists should review the guidelines at the beginning of the online application and submit 3-10 images representative of their work. Selections will be made by the Springfield Arts Commission and selected artists will be notified by November 1, 2023.
