The City of Springfield provides a free leaf pickup service to citizens each year starting at the end of November. We do this to help protect property from flooding and storm damage. Removing leaves from streets and storm drains also improves water quality in our rivers and streams.
The first round of pickup of bagged leaves begins Monday, December 6th for residents east of 28th/31st Street.
Collect leaves in medium-sized garbage bags and put the bags on the curb by 7 a.m. on the start date for your area and we’ll pick them up for free. It can take more than two weeks for all bags to be picked up within each part of the City depending on the weather and the number of bags set out for pick up.
