The City of Springfield has been allocated $327,639 in Community Development Block Grant coronavirus (CDBG-CV) funds to be used to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus (COVID-19). This allocation was authorized by the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), and is included as a substantial amendment to Springfield’s Fiscal Year 2020-2021 CDBG One Year Action Plan.

The Springfield Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC) will hold a public hearing on the use of CDBG-CV funds. The CDAC will consider all written comments and oral testimony during the public hearing regarding the use of funds, and will make a recommendation to the Springfield City Council for allocation. If you would like to provide public testimony in advance, that will be entered into the record, you can email that to efifield@springfield-or.gov by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2020. A 5-day public comment period on the proposed allocation of funds is currently open and will close on June 24, 2020. A draft is available online:  https://www.springfield-or.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/CDBG-CV-substantial-amendment_DRAFT-for-public-comment-6.19.2020_B.pdf
