Springfield is observing el Día de los Muertos during the month of October through early November. As part of Lane Arts Council’s Fiesta Cultural, Springfield Public Library and the Springfield History Museum present free cultural offerings that bring our community together.
Free Activities include:
- Artist workshops Make-Your-Own-Altar kits
- Springfield Community Altar hosted at the Springfield History Museum
- Community altar competition with awesome local prizes
- All-day community art project in the making of a sawdust mural Wednesday, November 2, 11 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Outdoor event and procession in the heart of downtown with live music, light refreshments and a dedication of the sawdust mural on Wednesday, November 2, 2021, starting at 4:30 p.m.
- Self-guided tour of participating downtown business altars

Actividades comunitarias de celebración y recuerdo
La comunidad de Springfield se está celebrando el Día de los Muertos con varios eventos y actividades con un sentido comunitario y de solidaridad durante octubre y noviembre. Hay varias opciones para la participación en el Día de los Muertos con la Biblioteca Pública de Springfield y el Museo de Historia de Springfield:
Las actividades son gratis e incluyen:
- “Kits” o equipos gratis de materiales para hacer su propio altar
- Una ofrenda comunitaria en el museo de historia de Springfield
- Una competencia de ofrendas en que la comunidad se puede participar para ganar premios
- Talleres de arte
- Proyecto artístico comunitario para la realización de un tapete de aserrín, el miércoles, 2 de noviembre, de 11 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Una procesión del Día de los Muertos desde el ayuntamiento de Springfield hasta el museo de historia de Springfield, con música en vivo, refresco. Empieza a las 4:30 p.m. el miércoles, 2 de noviembre.
- Un tour auto guiado de los altares de los negocios/empresas locales de Springfield
