Have you thought about which places in Springfield could grow to have a mix of jobs, homes, and services close to each other so people can meet most of their needs without relying on a car? Meeting requirements for Climate-Friendly Areas is one way the State thinks we can achieve this vision. The City has been working hard to understand what these State requirements will mean for our community and the built environment as we plan for the future. We are still in the early steps of determining which Climate-Friendly Area(s) make sense for Springfield to meet State requirements.

As we head into the next phase of this work, you can start influencing the outcome. We are conducting a brief survey and would like your input. If you complete the survey and provide your contact information at the end, you will have the option for a chance to win a $25 Visa gift card! Survey is open through May 17. If you would like to complete the brief survey and learn more about Climate-Friendly Areas, you can visit our project page at bit.ly/SpringfieldCFAs then click on the Story Map link on the page.
