Springfield Public Library’s film series, SpringFilm, presents the 1967 film Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner

Join the Springfield Public Library for a free showing of the timeless classic Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7th at the Wildish Community Theater in downtown Springfield.

“Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” unfolds against the backdrop of social upheaval in the 1960s. The plot revolves around an engaged couple, Joanna Drayton and John Prentice, who must confront, and challenge deeply ingrained racial prejudices when they announce their intention to marry. The film navigates the complexities of love and relationships, offering a timeless exploration of tolerance and understanding.

Starring: Sidney Poitier, Katharine Hepburn, Spencer Tracy, and Katharine Houghton; Directed by Stanley Kramer; 108mins.

SpringFilm continues at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, with a free showing of the quirky indie family film “Marcel the Shell with the Shoes On”.
