NARRATIVE OF INCIDENT: On 12-19-18 the Springfield High School Resource Officer was investigating a 16 year old male who was assaulted by a 14 year old male and 16 year old male at Meadow Park. The assault was captured on another student’s cell phone.   The Resource Officer was able to identify the two suspects. The 16 year old male suspect was located at 10th and ‘G’ Street and taken into custody.  The second male was spotted at 7th and G Street.   When officers attempted to take him into custody he resisted their efforts. A crowd of students who were with the male begun yelling and cussing at the officers.   The teenagers surrounded the officers and additional officers were requested to keep them back. Two 14 year old students refused to comply with officers lawful commands to get back and instead cussed at officers. One student was taken into custody for Interfering with Police, Resisting arrest and MIP Marijuana. The other was taken into custody for Disorderly Conduct, Interfering with Police and Carrying a Concealed Weapon (knife).    Once the primary student was safely secured in a patrol car officers departed the scene.Shortly thereafter the School Resource Officer received a call from the High School office about a 13 year old female banging on the front office glass and threatening physical harm to staff over her brother being taken into custody earlier.   Numerous Springfield Police Officers responded to the school where they encounter several teenagers outside. The 13 year old was taken into custody for Disorderly Conduct, Menacing and Criminal Trespass 2.

All teenagers were transported and lodged at the John Serbu Juvenile Justice Center.
