NARRATIVE OF INCIDENT:

On February 24^th, 2025 at 1148 am, the Springfield Police Department responded to reported vehicle versus pedestrian crash the 2700 block of E 22^nd Avenue. Upon the arrival of officers, a 48-year-old male was found down in the roadway. The pedestrian was conscious and alert and was transported via ambulance to an area hospital for apparent non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses reported the involved suspect vehicle had left the scene prior to police arrival. The driver of the involved vehicle eventually returned to the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.  The department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is continuing the investigation.
