10 a.m. F15 flyover by Kingsley Field, Home of the 173rd Fighter Wing, Oregon Air National Guard
Springfield is a community who embraces each other when times are at their hardest. On September 16, 2023, while serving at an US Air Force base in northeast Colorado, Airman Trinity Reinhart of Springfield was killed in a Humvee accident just two months shy of her 20th Birthday. 1st Lt. Joshua Beerbower said, “She was truly exceptional and always willing to help others, no matter the situation – she loved what she did as a defender.”
The City of Springfield, along with its partner Willamalane, and the American Legion Post #40 in Springfield, will honor and remember Airman Reinhart on Memorial Day, 2024, with a plaque dedication and tree planting near the Women Veterans Memorial at the Springfield Veterans Plaza. Mayor Sean VanGordon and Lane County Commissioner David Loveall will provide remarks as part of the program.
The event will start at 10 a.m. with a F15 flyover by Kingsley Field, Home of the 173rd Fighter Wing of the Oregon Air National Guard. Community members are invited to attend to help in honoring Airman Reinhart. There will be seating available and refreshments afterwards.
