The Springfield Police Department proudly recognized the service and dedication of its team members during a Swearing-In and Promotion Ceremony held Tuesday, April 22, at the Springfield Justice Center. The event welcomed new hires, celebrated internal promotions, and acknowledged exemplary service within the department.
Recognized During the Ceremony:
Promotion:
- Stephani Rayl-Duxbury – Promoted to Records Supervisor after 19 years of dedicated service with SPD. Her leadership and institutional knowledge will continue to be a vital asset to the department’s records team.
Other Recognition
- Detective Lisa Duncan and Detective Katelyn Loper – Newly appointed detectives who handle some of the department’s most complex cases and work closely with the community’s most vulnerable populations.
- Brian Austin – Recently transitioned from Animal Control to the department’s newly created Criminal Intelligence Analyst role. Brian began with SPD in 2011 and continues to contribute vital support behind the scenes, even though he was unable to attend the ceremony.
New Hires
- Andrew Berry, James French, and Jeff Lee – Lateral Police Officers joining from other agencies, bringing with them over 20 years of combined law enforcement experience.
- William Kearney – New Animal Control Officer, beginning a new chapter in public safety after an accomplished law enforcement career.
- Clay Beauvais – Detention Officer
- Rennie Rupp – Community Service Officer
- Rachael Oskierko – New Police Officer, currently attending the police academy and beginning her law enforcement journey.
“We’re building a department that reflects the values of professionalism, integrity, and service,” said Chief Jami Resch. “These individuals bring experience, commitment, and heart to the work, and I’m proud to welcome and recognize each of them.”
Mayor Sean VanGordon offered his congratulations, stating: “Public safety is built on the people who step forward to serve. We are grateful for those joining and advancing within the Springfield Police Department. Their dedication helps keep our neighborhoods strong and connected.”
