ARRESTED: Givante Green Harshbarger | 29-year-old male of Springfield
NARRATIVE OF INCIDENT:
On September 7, 2026, at approximately 6:08 pm, Springfield Officers responded to the 6800 block of A Street for a report of a male who had been shot. Officers arrived in the area, secured the scene, and contacted the victim, who was transported by medics to a hospital for gunshot wounds. The victim is in stable condition, and the injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
The preliminary investigation indicates there had been a domestic dispute that resulted in one subject getting shot. Givante Green Harshbarger was contacted at the scene and was taken into custody. SPD Detectives responded to assist with the investigation. Harshbarger was later transported to the Lane County Jail, where he was lodged on the listed charges. No further information is being released at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
CHARGES: Attempted Murder, Assault I, Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
