September Retail Theft Operations Summary

NARRATIVE OF INCIDENT:
During the month of September, members of the Springfield Police Department Crime Reduction Unit partnered with loss prevention personnel from several Springfield businesses on two retail theft operations. These operations resulted in 22 total arrests for various crimes. None of the arrested individuals made any attempt to pay for the items they had taken from inside the store.

Over $1,500 worth of stolen property was recovered and was later returned to its rightful owners. SPD has engaged in multiple retail theft missions over the last year and will continue to partner with area retailers to address the issue.
