Temporary RV Occupancy Registration & Guidelines
Due to the heightened need for temporary housing in our community, the City of Springfield is allowing the temporary occupancy of recreational vehicles (RVs) when they are parked on private property (such as in driveways and parking lots), when the property owner has registered with the City and the RV occupants and property owners comply with the City’s RV occupancy guidelines.
Originally approved by City Council in October 2020 and revised in December 2022, the City of Springfield’s guidelines for “RV Occupancy on Private Property” provide the information needed to ensure the health and safety of temporary RV residents, property owners, neighbors, and the public. The guidelines do not apply to RV parks, manufactured dwelling parks, campgrounds, or sites that are participating in the City’s Overnight Parking Program.
Property owners who are hosting RVs on their property which are being occupied for temporary housing purposes are required to register with the City. Registration is FREE. Please fill out this short form to register:

Please fill this out if you are living in an RV parked on private property (not in a manufactured dwelling or RV park, a campground, or an Overnight Parking Program site).
