It’s the great purple streetlight hunt and you’re invited to join in! We’re asking for your help locating defective streetlights that are turning purple in the City of Springfield.
Due to a manufacturing error of some LED streetlights, the luminous coating (phosphorus laminate) is breaking down after the initial installation. When the coating breaks down, the color tint of the streetlight turns purple or sometimes blue. The manufacturer will provide new replacement lights for lights that are malfunctioning, but we need your help in locating these lights!
