NARRATIVE OF INCIDENT:
On December 3, 2024, a Springfield Police Department Officer responded to a report that a suspect (later identified as Boutdavong) had threatened to kill another individual with a firearm. Boutdavong, a felon, was reported to be in possession of a pistol as well as what the victim described to be an AR-15 style rifle.
A short time later an officer observed the vehicle and Boutdavong in the driver’s seat at a nearby business. While waiting for additional support, Boutdavong drove away from the area and began driving erratically. Officers attempted a traffic stop, however Boutdavong did not comply and began to speed away.
Another officer was able to successfully deploy a spike strip and officers followed Boutdavong until he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a power pole near Mt. Vernon Rd on Bob Straub Parkway at which time, officers were able to take Boutdavong into custody without further incident.
A later search of the vehicle found there to be a pistol and an AR-15 style rifle inside.
