Mayor Sean VanGordon, members of the Springfield City Council, and City leadership will attend the ceremony, marking this significant transition in the leadership of the Springfield Police Department (SPD). This event provides media opportunities for photos, brief interviews, and event coverage.
About Chief Jami Resch: Chief Resch brings over 26 years of public safety and law enforcement leadership experience. She served as Chief of Police at the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) and has held multiple command roles throughout her distinguished career. She is a graduate of the FBI National Executive Institute and the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police. She joined SPD in January 2023, where she has played an integral role in department operations and culture-building.
