Springfield, OR – The City of Springfield invites members of the media to attend the swearing-in ceremony for Jami Resch, who will officially assume the role of Interim Chief of the Springfield Police Department (SPD).
The ceremony will take place on:

Mayor Sean VanGordon, members of the Springfield City Council, and City leadership will be in attendance. This event will provide an opportunity for photos, and coverage of this leadership transition within SPD.
About Jami Resch:
Resch brings 26 years of public safety and leadership experience, having served in multiple key leadership roles at the Portland Police Bureau (PPB), including Chief of Police. She has led specialized investigative units, critical incident responses, and community engagement efforts. A graduate of the FBI National Executive Institute and the PERF Senior Management Institute for Police, Resch holds advanced certifications in law enforcement command and decision-making.
She joined SPD in January 2023 and has since played an integral role in department operations.
This transition follows the resignation of Chief Andrew Shearer, whose leadership helped strengthen department policies, community engagement, and officer training.
