NARRATIVE OF INCIDENT:
On 06/27/2026 at approximately 1350 hours officers with the Springfield Police Department
responded to a reported bomb threat at Marshall’s clothing store at the shops at Gateway. A
store employee received a call from an unknown suspect that claimed a bomb had been placed
inside of the store. The store was evacuated by employees as the police were arriving. The
University of Oregon Police department’s explosives detection K-9 was requested and responded
to the store. The K-9 team cleared the store before shoppers were allowed to return. Police are
continuing to investigate the incident.
