Springfield, OR – Dog lovers can now pick up the 2026 Canines for Clean Water Calendar for free at locations across Springfield. Created by the City’s Stormwater Team, the calendar celebrates local dogs while reminding pet owners that picking up after their pets helps keep Springfield’s rivers clean.
A community favorite returns
Perfect for Springfielders who love their pets and the outdoors, this year’s calendar features 12 local dogs whose photos were selected through the City’s spring photo contest. More than 160 photos were submitted by Springfield residents, and City staff voted to select the featured canines. Each winner was then photographed for the calendar.

“It’s a fun way to show how taking care our rivers is also taking care of our dogs,” said Peter Jaeger, Environmental Services Technician. “When we scoop the poop and throw it in the trash, we keep bacteria out of the stormwater system and the local waterways where we and our pets love to play.”
The project is part of the City’s Canines for Clean Water program, which promotes simple actions residents can take to prevent water pollution.
