Springfield, OR -– Eugene Springfield Fire, in partnership with the Oregon Department of the State Fire Marshal, will conduct live fire training in an acquired residential structure near 38th Street and Virginia Avenue in Springfield on Tuesday, October 14, and Monday, October 20, 2025, between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
This essential training provides firefighters, law enforcement personnel, and fire investigators with hands-on experience in a safe, controlled environment. Live fire exercises help ensure crews remain well-prepared to respond quickly and effectively during real emergencies.
Residents in the surrounding area may see light smoke, fire apparatus, and emergency personnel during the training periods. These exercises are closely supervised for safety and do not pose a threat to nearby homes or property.
Please do not call 911 unless you see an unrelated fire or emergency.
Eugene Springfield Fire extends its appreciation to the City of Springfield City Manager’s Office and the City of Springfield Department of Public Works for their support in making this important training possible.
