Downtown Springfield to Come Alive for 6th Annual Block Party

Springfield, OR – The City of Springfield invites residents and visitors to the 6th Annual Springfield’s The Block Party powered by SELCO on Friday, September 5 in Historic Downtown. This vibrant, family-friendly event celebrates community connection with live music, street performers, food trucks, and engaging activities for all ages.

Stop by the City’s booth to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Ken Kesey Mural with limited-edition swag, prizes, and a live mural refresh by the original artists.

Community members gather in 2015 for the unveiling of the Ken Kesey Mural in Downtown Springfield. The mural, painted by Old City Artists, honors Springfield native and literary icon Ken Kesey.

A crowd gathered on Fourth and Main in downtown Springfield on Friday afternoon to view the unveiling of a new mural of author and graduate of Springfield High School, Ken Kesey. The Kesey family Ð including Kesey’s children and 98-year-old mother Ð attended the event. Three artists from Old City Artists painted the mural on the wall of the Odd Fellows Building in one week.
