NARRATIVE OF INCIDENT:
During the month of December, members of the Springfield Police Department Crime Reduction Unit partnered with loss prevention personnel from several Springfield businesses on multiple retail theft operations.

These operations resulted in 53 total arrests for various crimes. None of the arrested individuals made any attempt to pay for the items they had taken from inside the store.

Nearly $12,000 worth of stolen property was recovered and was later returned to its rightful owners. Neither of the aforementioned figures include the over $15,000 worth of tools & equipment recovered through a search warrant served in Salem during December.
