Clean Water Starts at Home

Spring is here, and it’s the perfect time to spruce up your yard! But did you know that what you do at home can make a big difference for our rivers? That’s right – your home and street are connected to our waterways. When it rains, water carries whatever it picks up along the way straight into our storm drains, which flow to the Willamette and McKenzie rivers.

To help you protect our rivers, we’ve created a helpful brochure packed with easy, practical tips you can use at home. Check it out here: bit.ly/cleanwaterhome.

Why does this matter? Well, Springfield was built on water – it’s even in our name. Spring! With an average of 47 inches of rain each year and two beautiful rivers running alongside us, water is a big part of our lives. Clean water means healthier families, thriving wildlife, and more fun in our rivers.

Urban runoff is one of the biggest threats to our waterways, but the good news is that we can all help reduce pollution. Simple steps like cleaning up after pets, properly disposing of yard waste, and avoiding chemicals on your lawn can make a huge impact.

So let’s keep our rivers clean, clear, and full of life. Check out the brochure, try a few tips at home, and help Springfield shine. Thanks for doing your part!
