School Resource Officers
The Springfield Police Department maintains a strong relationship with Springfield Public Schools, assigning an officer to each of the two high schools with the responsibility for providing enforcement, counseling, and classroom instruction. Read below to learn more about our two School Resource Officers:
Officer Allan Amundson

SRO Amundson is stationed at Thurston High School and supports schools on the ‘east side’ of the city. We took a moment to ask SRO Amundson a few questions about his role and being an SRO!

Football Player & Police Officer!

What do you enjoy most about being an SRO:
I enjoy working with kids and helping them solve their problems. I also like building connections with the students and staff to make the school environment safe and enjoyable.
