P41074 – Bicycle and Pedestrian Refinement Plan

Development & Public Works

Project Description:

The City of Springfield is developing design concepts for three new bicycle and pedestrian projects, as outlined in the Transportation System Plan. This project will focus on creating design concepts and estimating construction costs, which will be used to pursue construction funding in the future. The goal is to develop 12-foot-wide multi-use paths that will improve safety and convenience for people walking and biking throughout the city.

The proposed paths will be refined at the following locations:

  1. Flamingo Avenue to Gateway Street, south of Game Bird Park (TSP Project PB-2).
  2. EWEB Powerline Corridor, from Pioneer Parkway to Don Street, including crossings at Pioneer Parkway and Laura Street (TSP Project PB-7).
  3. High Banks Road to Aster Street, along 52nd Street, G Street, and 48th Street (TSP Project PB-55).

These improvements are designed to enhance connectivity and provide accessible routes for both recreational and commuter cyclists and pedestrians. Stay tuned for updates as we move forward with these exciting projects!
