Construction is now complete.

Paving is now complete. Striping and signal work are coming soon.

July 2022

Following a short pause in construction for the Oregon22 marathons, work is moving forward again. Night work is scheduled to begin on August 10 when RiverBend Construction will begin removing existing street surface and repaving it with new asphalt. For this phase of work, several lanes will be closed each night with flaggers directing traffic on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, August 10
  • Thursday, August 11
  • Sunday, August 14
  • Monday, August 15

The center driveway into Centennial Center shopping center will be intermittently closed and there may be delays turning at Prescott and Rainbow Drive. Plan to seek alternate routes and allow plenty of extra time if needed to reach your destinations.

Construction is expected to begin May 31st, 2022, starting with removal and reconstruction of ADA ramps on the south side of Centennial Blvd. Additional details on the initial stages of construction can be viewed in the May Project Update.

Bidding for this project closed on March 16, 2022. The contract was awarded to RiverBend construction in the amount of $954,564.81.

Project Description:

This project consists of pavement preservation of approximately 2,600 feet of Centennial Boulevard from Aspen Street east to Prescott Lane. The Project includes re-design and reconstruction of non-compliant ADA facilities to meet current standards. Centennial Boulevard is classified as a minor arterial and has average daily traffic (ADT) of over 13,500 vehicles. The roadway surface is in need of preservation work to extend the life of the roadway.

This project is funded by Go Bond Measure 20-296 passed by Springfield voters in 2018.

If, in the opinion of the City, it is necessary to amend or supplement the Invitation to Bid, an Addendum will be prepared, posted below and notifications sent to all bidders that purchased a bid book and those that attended a Pre-bid Informational Meeting and provided a valid e-mail address.

The City will make every reasonable effort to notify all bidders that have purchased a bid book or attended a Pre-bid Informational Meeting of Addenda, however, it is recommended that bidders routinely check the website for updated information. The City is not responsible for any explanation, clarification, interpretation or approval made or given in any manner except by written Addendum issued by the City.

Addenda will not be issued within 72 hours of the bid opening date and time as indicated in the Invitation to Bid without extending the bid opening requirement.
