Each of these groups provides valuable input to the Springfield City Council and City staff, supports civic decision-making, and reflects the diverse perspectives of our community.

Advisory Boards & Committees

 

Arts Commission

  • Purpose: Promotes arts and cultural engagement in Springfield through grants, exhibits, and artist support.
  • Meets: 2nd Tuesday monthly (except July & August), 6:30 p.m.

Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC)

  • Purpose: Advises on pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure, safety, and policies.

Budget Committee

  • Purpose: Reviews and recommends Springfield’s annual budget.
  • Meets: December/January and April/May

Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC)

  • Purpose: Recommends use of federal housing and development funds (CDBG, HOME).
  • Contact: Erin Fifield — 541-726-2302

Historic Commission

History Museum Committee

  • Purpose: Supports visioning, exhibits, and programming at the Springfield History Museum.
  • Contact: Maddie McGraw — 541-726-2300

Lane Regional Air Protection Agency (LRAPA)

  • Purpose: Monitors and enforces air quality standards across Lane County.
  • Contact: Nancy Newton — 541-726-3700

Library Advisory Board

  • Purpose: Advises on library services, development, and policy.
  • Meets: 1st Tuesday of each month

Metropolitan Wastewater Management Commission (MWMC)

  • Purpose: Provides regional wastewater treatment services for Eugene, Springfield, and Lane County.
  • Meets: 2nd Friday monthly, 7:30 a.m.

Planning Commission

  • Purpose: Advises on land use, zoning, and development; promotes public involvement in planning.
  • Meets: 1st & 3rd Tuesdays, 7:00 p.m.

Springfield Police Advisory Committee

  • Purpose: Provides input on police policy and department planning.
  • Meets: 1st Thursday monthly
