The City of Springfield is adjusting operating hours for several facilities given the weather forecasted for our area.

Springfield City Hall, Springfield Public Library, and Springfield Municipal Court will close at 2 p.m., today, December 22. Court cases scheduled for 2 p.m. are happening as scheduled. The Springfield History Museum is closed today through Saturday.

Given the information available about this storm’s forecasted impact, City Hall, Springfield Public Library, and Springfield Municipal Court will have a delayed start time and open at 10 a.m., tomorrow, December 23.

Springfield Municipal Court will be sending automated text messages, emails, and phone calls letting individuals know their court dates have been rescheduled.

According to the US National Weather Service, the onset of precipitation will be “spotty and gradual” with the more impactful precipitation starting later in the day and continuing overnight. Freezing rain is expected for much of the area.

The City’s first responders including Springfield Police Department, Eugene Springfield Fire and Operations Division staff will remain in service to the Springfield community.
