Perfect for Springfielders who love dogs and spend time in the great outdoors, this calendar shows off 12 adorable, local pooches. It also reminds us that our everyday choices prevent water pollution, which keeps waterways clean and safe for everyone, including our 4-legged friends. Particularly, when we “scoop the poop,” we prevent bacteria, disease, and unhealthy nutrients from washing into storm drains and out to the Willamette and McKenzie Rivers.

Do you want your own Canines for Clean Water bandana and a poo bag holder for your leash? Take the pledge to scoop the poop on our webpage, and we’ll send you one!

About the 2022 edition

We started making this edition of the calendar in the spring of 2021 with the announcement of a pup photo contest on the City of Springfield’s Facebook page and website. From the photo entries that we received, City staff voted for their top 12 favorites. Then we grabbed our camera, squeak toys, and doggie treats, and we met each pooch and their family for a photo shoot that had plenty of romping and playing.

We hope this calendar is as fun to read as it was to make! We’ll be back to do it again next year.
