The City of Springfield provides a leaf pickup service to residents within city limits to help prevent flooding, protect water quality and keep our neighborhood streets safe for drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians. Sanipac is contracted to pickup, haul and recycle bagged leaves within city limits.
Pick Up Dates:
- First round begins Monday, December 2 West of 28th/31st Streets and Monday, December 9 East of 28th/31st Streets.
- Second round begins Monday, January 6 West of 28th/31st Streets and Monday, January 13 East of 28th/31st Streets.
- Place leaves in medium sized garbage bags. Bags are to contain ONLY leaves. If bags contain other yard debris they can’t be used for compost and will not be picked up.
- Place bags at the curbside, not in the street, by 7 am Monday of the week your neighborhood is scheduled for pick up. Not all bags will be picked up first thing Monday; it may take several days. Severe weather may cause delays.
