On 12/08/21, Officers responded to a report of a disorderly female subject breaking out the windows of a motorhome parked in the driveway of a residence near W D St and River Hills Dr.  As officers arrived on scene, they found the involved person to be inside the vehicle and attempted contact.  The woman was not responding to officer’s requests to come out of the vehicle and soon they observed her intentionally lighting the interior of the vehicle on fire.  It was unknown how many people were inside the vehicle.  The fire quickly grew creating a substantial safety risk for everyone in the immediate area.

The woman was quickly pulled from the vehicle and taken a safe distance away.  No one else was located inside the vehicle.  Assisting officers on scene began using fire extinguishers and a garden hose to keep the fire at bay until the Eugene Springfield Fire Department arrived on scene and extinguished the fire.  The involved female made statements that there were bombs inside the vehicle.  The area residents were immediately evacuated and the Eugene Police Department’s Explosive Disposal Unit (EDU) was requested.  The vehicle was evaluated by EDU investigators and no explosives were located.  The involved subject was arrested and lodged at the Lane County Jail on the listed charges.
