*UPDATE*
Following a month’s long investigation into the incident listed below, an arrest has been made. Ryder Scott Dixon 26 year old White male of Springfield was lodged Wednesday afternoon at the Lane County Jail. During the investigation, Detectives uncovered evidence of additional crimes dating back to the summer months.
He was lodged on the following charges:
Assault II
Unlawful Use of a Weapon
Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle
Elude by Vehicle
Elude by Foot
Reckless Endangering
Criminal Mischief II
Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle
Felon in Possession of a Firearm x 2
Also a Parole Board Warrant for the following:
Felon in Possession of a Firearm x 3
Unlawful Use of a Weapon

SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: White male in his 20’s with a shaved head. Last seen wearing no shirt and black basketball shorts.
NARRATIVE OF INCIDENT: On Sunday September 5th 2021 Officers of the Springfield Police Department responded to a report of an armed dispute on Janus St. It was reported that there were several armed subjects in a physical dispute and one subject was hit with a gun. He was later located walking in the area with two large lacerations to his head.
The suspect fled the area at a high rate of speed. The caller provided a vehicle description, and as Officer Kendrick arrived in the area, he located the vehicle near Aspen St. A vehicle pursuit ensued onto Centennial Blvd and into Eugene. The vehicle came to a stop at MLK and Kinsrow Ave in Eugene. The suspect driver fled on foot into a wooded section near the apartment complexes. The Eugene Police Department assisted in an area search for the suspect. The search included two K9 Officers. Ultimately, the suspect was not located.
Officers located an M4 rifle inside the car along with other evidence. The subjects interviewed do not appear to be fully cooperating with investigating Officers. Anyone with information is asked to call the Springfield Police Department 541-726-3714.
