The City of Springfield and the Metropolitan Wastewater Management Commission (MWMC) are proud to offer the "Clean Water University" program to Springfield School District 5th grade classes, free of charge. The program is based on a series of hands-on, interactive workshops. The program consists of 10, 1-hour sessions over an eight week time period. All materials are provided. At the end of the program, students participate in a "graduation" celebration.

The program is available fall and spring terms. Limited space is available in the workshop schedule, so book your class' spot early in the school year! Call us at 541.726.3694.

  • The Incredible Journey (water cycle)
  • What's in the Water (pollutants)
  • Water Quality Testing
  • Aquatic Macroinvertebrate Sampling
  • Wastewater Treatment Facility Tour (field trip)
